This physician is a well-respected C-Suite\u00a0leader with a large, independent multi-specialty group practice. He is\u00a0focused\u00a0on the proliferation of the\u00a0patient-centered medical home model, its contribution\u00a0to quality care and by virtue, a restoration of the patient-physician relationship.<\/p><p><em><img src=\"https:\/\/www.reinvestconsulting.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Insight-1-300x281.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"281\" \/>\"The\u00a0foundational\u00a0factor in an ideal doctor-patient relationship is trust. \u00a0Trust allows the doctor-patient relationship to grow in every manner. \u00a0The patient knows that the physician is present and is willing and able to spring into action if the need arises. \u00a0From the physician perspective, the trusting patient leads to improved compliance with plans of care and therefore better health outcomes. \u00a0I have been fortunate throughout my career as a physician that my patients have trusted me and, as a result, we have walked together along the path of improved health. \u00a0The biggest barrier to establish a trusting doctor-patient relationship is accessibility. \u00a0The physician must make themselves accessible to their patients at all times. \u00a0Without this, a trusting relationship is difficult to develop. \u00a0We all seek that \u201cgo-to\u201d person in our lives and for our patients that person is their physician. \u00a0Enhanced accessibility can be achieved in so many ways. \u00a0Modern communication has opened so many channels to be able to communicate with our patients. \u00a0Although traditional face-to-face visits will always be necessary, other methods of communication such as texting, email or web-based enhance accessibility. \u00a0I have used all these communication methods to enhance accessibility and, therefore, maintain trusting, healthy relationships with my patients.\"<\/em><\/p><p><em>- Anonymous\u00a0Contributor<\/em><\/p><p>If you as a physician have an insight around these four questions, please share with us and we will post your thoughts as well!
